COMP 7920: Advanced Human-Computer Interaction

Reading Questions/Comments

Approximately 75% of the classes will be devoted to discussing research papers. The goals in reading and discussing research papers are to learn the material, see concrete applications of techniques covered lecture and to gain experiencing reading research papers effectively, and with a critical eye. Two excellent sources of information on how to read a research paper can be found here and here .

You will be required to submit two questions or comments per assigned reading prior to each class (exceptions will be noted). Questions and comments should be designed to stimulate discussion and should not simply be questions that you could answer by looking something up yourself or a clarification question. Clarification questions are welcome but should be in addition to your two questions/comments.

Each set of questions/comments will be graded using a letter grading scheme using a 5-point scale (Exceptional, Very Good, Good, Fair, Poor)

Submission

Questions/Comments should be posted to the UMLearn forum by 8pm the night prior to each class by responding to the appropriate thread. Late submissions will not be accepted (or marked).
