Getting Around

• Taxis / Rideshare

  The two main taxi companies are Unicity (204-925-3131) and Duffy's (204-925-0101). Both companies take bookings by phone or mobile app, and there are always taxis waiting at the airport. Here are some typical fares:

  • Airport to University of Manitoba campus: $35
  • Airport to Four Points by Sheraton Winnipeg South: $35
  • Airport to Inn at the Forks: $25
  • Inn at the Forks to University of Manitoba campus: $25
  • Four Points by Sheraton Winnipeg South to University of Manitoba campus: $10
  Popular ridesharing services such as Uber or Lyft do not operate in Winnipeg (yet), however there are other services running, including TappCar, Cowboy Taxi, ReRyde, and InstaRyde. Ridesharing is new to Winnipeg, so we do not have enough experience with these services to confidently recommend them.



• Public Transportation

  You can use Google Maps or mobile transit apps (e.g., Transit) or the Winnipeg Transit website to find bus times, routes, and stop locations. A regular fare is $2.95 and the driver will not make change. After paying the fare, you can ask for a transfer ticket which is valid on any bus in the following 90 minutes. Here are some suggested routes:

  • Airport to University of Manitoba campus:
    • line 15, transfer to one of lines 60, 160, 161
    • line 20, transfer to line 78
  • Airport to Four Points by Sheraton Winnipeg South: line 15, transfer to line 162 (or 170 at night)
  • Airport to Inn at the Forks: line 15, transfer to line 38
  • Inn at the Forks to University of Manitoba campus: line 160
  • Four Points by Sheraton Winnipeg South to University of Manitoba campus: one of lines 72, 162 (or 170 at night)



• Car Rentals

  Several companies offer in-airport car rentals, while other companies offer shuttles to nearby rental locations. Information about parking on campus can be found by clicking here.
