Course Description
This course examines the principles of computer networks, including network architectures, algorithms, protocols, and performance. May not be held with the former COMP 3720 or the former COMP 4720 or ECE 3700. Prerequisite: COMP 2280 (C).
Note that the actual prerequisite is COMP 3010. The prerequisite listed in Aurora is incorrect (2280 was the prerequisite for 3720). Unfortunately, changing it takes time.

Grade Breakdown
Grading
You can expect the following grading to be applied in this course:
Assignments
There will be 3 assignments worth a total of 30% towards your final grade. You must adhere to the assignment guidelines to ensure your assignment will not be rejected. Please note that late assignments will generally not be accepted. At least one assignment will be returned to you prior to the VW deadline.
Assignment complexity will be at a fourth year Computer Science level and involve programming using C (with pthreads) and Python (with SimPy).
In-Class Test
The class test is worth 20% of your final grade. It will be scheduled during regular class time — a 45 minute test within the last two (full) weeks of October.
Final Exam
The final exam is worth 50% of your final grade. Time and locale to be announced
by the Registrar's Office. You are reminded that you are obligated to make yourself available for the writing of the final exam.
