    Welcome to Winter 2012 Session...

January 17, 2012:

The new page has the minimum for all to proceed. So, I'll not be posting news here anymore. Please continue checking the new course page at:

http://universityofmanitoba.desire2learn.com

January 7, 2012:

The new course web page under Desire2Learn LMS is not quite ready yet, since there are many issues that I am trying to solve. Nevertheless, I'm populating it with the hope that as the term progresses, those problems will hopefully be solved.

You need to activate your University account (CC account) as instructed below:

http://umanitoba.ca/student/records/pii

Once you've completed the steps successfully, you can use your CC account to access the pilot site below:

http://universityofmanitoba.desire2learn.com

Once you enter your information, Vola!, you'll be in your personal portal (very similar to jump/angel, I was told)... I assume you'll be able to "customize" your portal, but I don't know how yet. I'll pass such information as I learn about them.

Now that you're in, please take your first survey.

Please note that when you logout from the portal, you'll be directed to a non-existent page (https://d2l.umanitoba.ca/?logout=1 ). This is a known problem and will be fixed in the future. Using the back arrow of your browser will bring you to this page where you can enter your username and password to enter the portal again.

Again, please bear with me as I'm volunteering in this pilot study. Nevertheless, I want to emphasize that if the issues developing and/or accessing the new course web page become harder to cope with beyond a threshold, we'll switch to this page to avoid any further discomfort and frustration to all of us...

January 5, 2012:

Please note that this web page is only temporary. I volunteered for the new pilot program that will bring Desire2Learn Learning Management System to campus in September 2012. The new course web site will be available soon.

Look here to find course information, updates and links. Please report any website related problems to me. Note that this site will be dynamic in that the contents will change as the term progresses. So, visit frequently...

  • not previously taken, or are concurrently registered in, this course and another that has been identified as "not to be held with" in the course description.
The registration system may have allowed you to register in this course, but it is your responsibility to check. If you are not entitled to be in this course, you will be withdrawn, or the course may not be used in your degree program. There will be no fee adjustment. This is not appealable. Please be sure to read the course description for this and every course in which you are registered.
