Required research seminar: Parameter Optimisation for an Embedded RTOS kernel in Betty - An Adult Sized Humanoid Robot M. C. Lau Abstract: This report presents an overview on development of our adult-size humanoid, Betty. Efficiency of its real-time embedded system is tested based on several experiments which will implement different queue data structures, communication protocols and PID controller. We measured and analysed the latency and jitter of Betty's responses in different settings to determine the optimum performance of its real-time embedded system. We also discuss Betty's hardware design and application of Betty's forward and inverse kinematics in three projects which are Wii drum kit, portrait drawing and simulation.
