Class Project

You have proposed the following projects. These projects have three (3) interim reports (29th of January, February, and March), and deliverables by Midnight, Monday, April 18, 2016. Please make sure to keep on schedule.

Reports

Is your project publishable? If yes, write a 8-10 pages paper in IEEE or ACM two-column conference format (I prefer typesetting in LaTeX, but typesetting in Word will do).

Otherwise, you will submit a 18-20 pages report. It should be printed on a 1.5 space page, with 1in left, top, and right margins, and 1.5in bottom margin.

1. Haptic Feedback Generation with Static Electricity

This project will develop a low-cost IoT that generates static electricity on human's skin and provides goosebumps on the skin.

2. Effective Visualization of Sensory Data

This project will develop a system which will collect data (e.g., vital signs) from vaious sensors and will visualize them in multiple correlated view on a head worn display.

3. A Gaze-Contingent Color Mapping

This project will develop a system to adaptively alter the mapping between the full dynamic range of the source image(s) and the image that is displayed in an adaptive manner based on the gaze direction and location.

4. Home Alarm System Automation

This project will address the deficiencies of a modern home alarm system and will develop advanced visual features and address the security of the system.

5. Maintaining Events with Multiple Robots

This project will develop a system where multiple robots will be placing and controlled in an industrial environment.

6. Transit Routes Management

This project will develop a system where the City of Winnipeg's Transit Routes will be displayed and the passengers at the bus stops will be provided with personalized information.

7. Practical Grocery Manager

This project is to implement an application called "Practical Grocery Manager". The purpose of the application is to provide sophisticated experiences for users to better manage grocery inventories and shop wisely.

8. GenoUM+

This project is about making a building smarter. The main idea is to deploy a larger number of temperature and humidity reading sensors into a larger workplace where knowing the real time information about temperature and humidity of certain places really matters.
