Lake Louise to Field - July 28, 2002
Matt's Diary: Day 9
Slept-in late at our now regular haunt Mt. Protection Campground. After variously flavoured oatmeal for breakfast we headed out for a less intense stroll beside Lake Louise to the "Back of the Lake" climbing area. There we indulged in the puff's sport of sport climbing where commitment lasts only between bolts. Not really - we did a nice 5.8 and then 5.9 on steep ledged red rocks, but rain and shopping duties prevented any subsequent stepping through grades. We bought a tacky alarm clock from a gift shop at Lake Louise with "Lake Louise" printed on it in large letters. Then off to Field to camp at the base of the Presidents for tomorrow's climb. Ate a fantastically hearty beef stew at the Truffle Pig café - yum yum...
