Network Connectivity

To connect a client to the World Wide Web, you'll need:

Dial-up Internet access:
- A dial-up terminal connection, and a login account on an Internet access system, is sufficient to use a text-only client.
- A dial-up network connection, via SLIP or PPP, from an Internet access provider, to run a multi-media browser.
Direct Internet access, via a leased line, for higher speed or availability.

For a Web server, direct Internet access is a must (except for a private server).
