Interested in graduate studies? I'm currently seeking students for the Fall of 2014. Click here to find out more. |
Prospective Students | Are you interested in graduate studies in computer science as a member of the Computer Vision Lab?Read the following to find out more about how to apply, and to make sure that your application receives attention. We receive many applications from prospective students, and some of these are somewhat generic in their statement of interests, or an inappropriate fit in terms of background, or desired research program. You are much more likely to be successful in applying if your application, background or interests reflect a good fit with the research program of the lab. My own research program is broad and includes a number of elements as follows: Computer Vision Image Processing Machine Learning Human Vision Computational Neuroscience Visual Attention Visual Data Mining 3D modeling and "real world" data analysis Visual media and data analytics Behavioral psychology in visual perception
If these topics are of interest to you, I am typically seeking students, and currently am looking for graduate students for the Fall of 2016. If you are interested, you may contact me at: I would recommend placing [Prospective Student] in the header so that I know that you have read the above, and feel that feel you would be a good fit to the overall research program. It is also useful to send a copy of your CV, transcripts, and a statement to the effect of what your research interests are, and if applicable what your long term objectives may be. I also commit to ensuring that students have sufficient financial support to ensure that costs of tuition, living expenses, and other day to day needs may be met. This is subject to my current pool of funding that is not yet allocated to existing students, and also expected costs subject to scholarships that you may qualify for. There are scholarships available for both domestic and international students at the level of the University, Faculty, Province, and National level. Information regarding some of these are listed at the following links: International Students University Wide Computer Science Specific National Scholarships http://www.nserc-crsng.gc.ca/Students-Etudiants/pg-cs/index_eng.asp |
